Judy Schultz, RWC Professor of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, recently showed her students the principles and importance of hybrid cars.

She took class members out to the parking lot to inspect her recently purchased Toyota Prius hybrid car, to explain how the car works and how it affects the economy as well as the environment. The car itself runs on both electricity and gas and also gets up to 60 miles to the gallon. Professor Schultz showed the car's diagram and its engine and explained how and when the car switches its power from electric to gas.
