On May 16, the Student Award Ceremony recognized dozens of hard working RWC students for their exellence in their particular academic fields.

There were several programs that honored students, including Student Government, Behavioral Science, Dental Hygiene, Foreign Language, eMedia, and Nursing.

Angel Fields received the award for Student Goverment Member of the Year. The Activist's own Amber Wooten was awarded Outstanding Student of the Year.

In the Behavorial Science Department, Rebecca Wagner received the Criminal Justice Student of the Year award, Joda Plye was noted as Social Work Student of the Year, and Kristen MacDonald won the award for Psychology Student of the Year.

The Dental Hygiene Awards were given to eight lucky students. The Dr. Peter Gavin Scholarship was awarded to Krista Silz. The Herbert & Josephine Frankel Family award, Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals award, and the Sigma Phi Alpha award were given to Pauline Smith. The other two recepients of the Sigma Phi Alpha award were Jessica Messmer and Nicole Wetta. The Dr. Ronald W. Krantz award was given to Alberta Woodson.

Student Involvement Awards went to Elizabeth (Betsey) Ahlers, Justin Boone, Amy Edelman, Kati Ellison, Angel Fields, Elizabeth (Beth) Fritsch, Tony Hall, Ashley Harding, Paul Hein, Abigail Kirk, Tony Lander, Edward Lemen, Amanda Phillips, Kathleen, Putman, Anthony Rowe, Tracy Sease, Dawn Tucker, Rebecca Wagner, Anger Walkosak, Nicole Wetta, Amber Wooten, and Jake Youngstrom.

Outstanding Service Award for Media Production went to Philip Grosvenor.

Outstanding Service Award for Media Support went to Melodie Fleming.

Student of the Year Nominees were Steven Burg, Angela Cornejo, Melanie Cranmer, Julie Hoover-Sizemore, Sheryl Johnson, Zachary Marcus, Melissa Musick, and Jennifer Ruiz.

Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges were Justin Eckstein, Amy Edelman, Brandon Farmer, Angel Fields, Philip Grovsenor, Abigail Kirk, Edward Lemen, and Kathleen Putman.

Nominees for Alpha Beta Gamma are Yafah Auslander, Carolyn Barnett, Susan Barnett, Brittany Bell, Jamila Browning, Cathy Emmons, Kelli Galbraith, Christine Hartger, Jill Herold, Stephanie Kovarsky, Jonathan Lewis, Samuel Metzger, Rhea Pettway, Matthew Powell, Travis Rau, Teresa Ringel, Mary Schmithorst, Edward Shaughnessy, Julie Totten, William Turner, and Shawn Wood.
